By This River is a photographic series that studies in an unconventional way the relationship between the human being and Nature, understood not so much as a place to contaminate, but rather as a nest, the source from which we were born and to which we want to return. The photographic series alternates images of a small stream that crosses a forest with portraits of women who immerse themselves in this atmosphere and adapt, becoming with their gestures branch, water, rock. The sense of abstraction is profound: both the context, so divorced from traces of civilization, and the female figures, never framed in the face, are elusive, timeless, and therefore capable of creating archetypal images, which turn to green, metallic blue, full and deep gray. The details compose from one photo to another a picture that offers as a whole a sense of deep fullness and peace.
