Description

Il lungo addio

The Long Goodbye is a photographic project born in 2017-and still ongoing-that deals with euthanasia and end of life. But how to address and make more understandable such a complex issue, usually debated only in newspapers and courtrooms? The result is a multi-voiced, often diametrically opposed narrative composed of the diverse personal stories of the hopelessly ill or their loved ones. A profound and delicate narrative that uses an authorial gaze to bring close a human issue-even before a social one-that is more urgent than ever. Expressing themselves are poetic images, flanked by short texts written specifically for each photograph and drawing inspiration from each photograph. An embrace between words and images that succeeds in talking about major topical issues, at the same time investigating death and suffering as well as life and love.
