Description
OLTRE IL FIUME
“Oltre il fiume” is a documentary narrative exploring the man-made elements and landscapes along the Adda River. The project aims to capture the essence of an area through its architecture and static elements, without explicitly showing the river or the people who inhabit it. The result is a timeless dimension, where the imagesmight have been taken yesterday or today, evoking a light melancholy and a slow gaze in search of points of contact. “Oltre il fiume” is a search for an affective link between the river, the villages that inhabit it, and the roads that act as a trait d’union in those often intermediate stretches: neither nature nor urban landscape. The river water gives them meaning but is almost invisible. Similar passing worlds hold unexpected, or re-found, urban elements that are cues for melancholy and memories free, however, from nostalgia and regret. While time and man transform, the river and the awe of what I see now remain. The Adda River is also my emotional connection to the land.
